   Newsletter     *    June 2018

Namaste!

The middle of the year is approaching and with it, mid-Winter in the Southern hemisphere too. It is the season to step back and re-assess situations. Mother Nature teaches us valuable lessons if only we would take time off our busy schedules to observe and learn from the different seasons. Each one mirrors different stages in our lives and although Nature takes its time to do everything it must do, all is accomplished in due time. No task is ever rushed, yet all is accomplished.

Take the time to reflect on lessons that the school of life brings you and you will certainly benefit from each and every one.

Coping with stress can weigh heavily unless measures are taken to minimise its effects, such as the following visualisation exercise:

Cultivate detachment – a sense of being in the world, but not of it.  Visualise yourself in a thick bubble from which you can observe the world going about its business while you remain centred even in the midst of chaos. In this way you will strengthen the aura of energy around yourself, which in turn will lessen the effects of any negative energy emanating from other people. Doing this creates a sacred space in which to take a breath and conserve your vital energy.

Practice this when you feel that your peace of mind is being threatened by others and you will find that your personal power increases as well as your protection field becoming stronger and more effective in repelling lower, more dense vibrations.

Moonstone Emotional Healing Energy

Moonstone has long been known for its calming, soothing qualities on the emotional body. Its energy is balancing and healing, assisting in the mastery of emotions by bringing them under the control of Higher Will, rather than expressing or repressing them. It also helps identify emotional patterns that are stored in the subconscious, and serves as a guardian to contain explosive passions, and to stimulate confidence and composure. Moonstones can be placed at the center of the chin (the Moon Center) to create this balance.

Moonstone bestows a depth of feeling, a gentleness within the self that brings happiness to the environment in which it resides. Associated with the feminine, it enhances the intuitive side of the mind. To women, Moonstone reveals their feminine power and abilities of clairvoyance, and gives rise to the kundalini energy. Moonstone helps men become more in-tune with the feminine aspects of their nature, and stimulates the right side of the brain, encouraging nonlinear thinking and emotional balance.

Moonstone is especially calming to children. It soothes those away from home at night, drives away nightmares and encourages sleep. It is also used to treat sleepwalking.

                                                      Visualization for Self-Healing

This can be a powerful therapeutic technique. It is a way of creating a visual form of affirmation.

The network of consciousness allows you to contact any part or parts of your body and it responds to your communication with it in unexpected ways. The body has innate healing potential which will operate at all times unless we intervene in some way, such as via a negative mental message. This potential is a function of the balancing force in all the living cells of your body. If something is damaged, the cells will immediately set about repairing the damage. You may assist this process by using visualisations and you will find that your body’s response to them is extremely positive.

Use the following exercise when you have had an operation and you wish to enhance your body’s potential to heal.

-       Settle yourself as comfortably as you can and relax the body and mind. Breathe gently and normally.

-       Allow your mind to focus on the injured part and send it loving thoughts. See the cells of the organs and tissues all being activated to carry out the healing as quickly as possible. See the blood bringing all the nourishing materials that the cells need to do their work.

-       If you feel impressed to flood the area with a colour, see the light covering the area, aiding the processes involved.

-       Continue with this visualisation for as long as you wish. Let your intuition guide you to add anything else that is required. Let the injured part tell you when the healing is complete. Give thanks for the healing.

If necessary repeat the visualisation. You are bringing in extra help to join your body in the healing process. Make sure your thoughts are linked to this process in a positive way.

Reiki Newsletter August 2014

                                  Reiki Newsletter – August 2014

Namaste

Hope everyone is keeping well. I know I have taken a long break from the newsletters but hopefully it will now go back to the normal pace.

The energies on this beautiful planet we live in have been doing drastic adjustments to everyone’s lives as more and more cleansing on all levels is taking place and many of us are finding it difficult to keep up with all the changes, but the key to thrive under these circumstances is no mystery to us: Stay true to your inner self and live in integrity no matter which challenge you’re facing at any given moment.

Even though our reality will not always conform to our expectations, we must nonetheless accept what is and frame our choices within the context of reality. Denying the truth of our circumstances is ignoring the facts at hand, thus devastating any chances we may have had of realizing our dreams. When we ground ourselves in the present so that we can understand the events unfolding around us, we need not give up on the vision of a brighter future we aspired to at the start of our journey. It may take longer for it to manifest and the decisions that will help bring it to fruition will be different from those we originally anticipated making. So adjust if you must and allow the Universe to assist along the way.

                              CHAKRA CLEARING EXERCISE

In order to remain in the present and grounded, we need to keep our Chakra System in balance. Just as our physical spaces need periodical de-cluttering, so our energetic fields also need this clearing, which will in turn restore and strengthen your connection to yourself and your Divine Wisdom within. Energetic clutter such as fear, self-hatred and pain will be removed to allow your consciousness to be free to grow again. To assist you in clearing the clutter that may have accumulated there, you may try the following exercise:

-          Begin by sitting or lying down comfortably;

-          Take a series of deep breaths and allow your soul to connect with Mother Earth and the vast expanse of the universe.

-          Visualise your first chakra situated at the tailbone and imagine a valve opening there. Imagine a cord dropping from your tailbone deep into the earth and let everything that is stagnant within you flow through it. Let go of old energy, inactive thoughts, and anything else that no longer serves you or your higher purpose.

-          Ask the Earth to accept what you are offering by turning this old energy into light. Continue to let old energy drain out of you until you feel like you have released all your energetic baggage. When you are done imagine the valve closing.

-          Before moving on to clear your next chakra, let vibrant dark red light travel upward from the earth and through the cord into your first chakra.

-          Repeat this process with all seven of the body’s chakras. The second chakra is orange in colour, the third is yellow, the fourth is green, the fifth is blue, the sixth is indigo and the seventh is violet.

-          Visualise your crown chakra and draw beautiful golden-white light from the universe flowing down through the top of your head. Release any worries or fears that you have been holding on to. Draw this light into your aura and enjoy the resultant feeling of peace.

-          When you are finished, take a bath with a cup of coarse sea salt.

-          Thank Mother Earth and the Universe for their assistance

         Reiki Surrender Box

A Reiki surrender Box is a tool to let go of our burdens so the universe can take care of them on our behalf.

There are times when our minds are too busy with endless to-do lists, plans and dreams leaving us with no room to think. In trying to maintain a mental hold on every detail we may actually delay the realization of our goals because we won’t let them go. At times such as these we may want to use the Reiki Surrender Box.

This box allows us to release our worries and wishes so the universe can take care of them for us. Write down what you need or want to happen and then place the note in your box. By placing your thoughts in the box, you are taking action and letting the universe know you need help and are willing to surrender your innermost feelings. By releasing it this way, you give yourself permission to not worry about that problem any longer and place your trust in the universe to take care of it. You may wish to decorate your box and place it in a special place. Your surrender box is a sacred container for your concerns. Not only will you be freeing space in your mind by letting go of your worries and dropping them into your box, but you will also be giving your burden over to a higher power. Once you do this, you will also free your mind so you can be fully present in each moment.

It is great fun to go back and remove the pieces of paper out of the box once your requests have been granted and it is also amazing how quickly problems go away when you finally let go and allow a higher power to help you.

                                               Walking Meditation

Does the thought of meditating daily daunt you? Maybe you are one of those people who think meditating has to be done in a certain position to be effective. Not so.

Assure yourself that you can do this. People walk to get from one place to another and most of the time they are in such a hurry that they do not pay attention to their immediate surroundings.

Walking with intention and conscience enables one to see a different world out there. If you can start your day in this blessed manner, you will see that the way you approach your tasks differs from the past and so will your experiences change too.

Do your walking meditation in the morning, preferably; in nature, a forest, on the beach or in a park, so that you will benefit from the fresh air to rejuvenate your cells. Walk for at least ten minutes or more if you can.

Begin with a small invocation to the planet to expand your conscience and then start walking with the intent to feel and see more than ever.

Feel your feet as they take each step and touch the ground. Close your eyes and listen to the sounds around you. What do you hear? What do you feel? If you can walk barefooted on the ground, then it’s worth a try. Take off your shoes and feel the energy of Mother Earth and then allow the sensation to fill your body as you take each step.

A walking, mindful meditation is a very healthy option and helps you to keep your thoughts and feelings in perspective. This technique will assist you in reducing your stress levels and maintain the balance and inner harmony and this will in turn touch everyone you come into contact with.

I hope you have enjoyed this month’s newsletter and that it may be of assistance to you on your life’s journey.

Approach life with an open heart for in so doing you will be opening a doorway to a greater consciousness. You may try this by breathing deeply into your heart centre. At first, you may feel tenderness or sadness in your heart as well as relief. Any emotions that come up may be witnessed and healed through this meditation process which benefits both your physical heart and your energetic heart. The more you practice, the more you will find your heart expanding to your own presence and to all the situations your life brings. Enjoy experiencing your true self!

Sending you all many blessings of Love and Light

Namaste!

                                                                October 2012 Newsletter

Namaste

I trust you are enjoying the warmer days and Spring beauty all around us now.
This is also a perfect time to reap the rewards of the preparation for action done during the cold winter months. Mother Nature gives us clues through the seasons, in wintertime the trees are bare, also taking the proverbial back seat and preparing for the beauty and action that will rise in Spring, so let us now enjoy the new and happy beginnings to unfold.

                                                             Natural Beauty
by: May Long
If you think that beauty is about makeup, skinny jeans and obsessing over every tiny wrinkle that dares to show up on your face, then you may be in for a shock. Beauty is really about health. No, really… nature designed beauty as an evolutionary tool. From our cave dwelling days to today, we have been hardwired to see beauty as a sign of a healthy partner. But no amount of makeup or botox can create true beauty. Natural beauty comes from the Goddess within every woman.
You may be thinking there is no Goddess within you, but you’re wrong. Each of the Greek Goddesses represented a part of the ideal woman. Sure, they took these traits to the extreme, but every woman has the beauty of Aphrodite, the strength of Hera and the wisdom of Athena within them. Sometimes life can quiet these goddesses within, when we become so busy and so focused on everyone else. But letting your inner Goddess shine through can create a natural beauty that no amount of makeup or hairspray can match.
To get in touch with your inner Goddess, draw upon the natural strengths that all women possess, and your inner beauty will have a direct effect on the outer you. Try these tips to release your natural beauty:
1. Aphrodite is one of the most celebrated of the Greek Goddesses, and for good reason. You likely know her as the Goddess of beauty, but she is also the Goddess of love. And contrary to popular belief, the easiest path to beauty starts inside, not outside. Love yourself, really get to know and celebrate yourself, and you’ll see a natural beauty in the mirror that radiates like never before. Keep a journal, and write love notes to yourself, pearls of wisdom and notes of encouragement. Accept yourself, flaws and all, and only then can you truly offer the same to others in your life.
2. The Goddess of the dawn is Eos, and she is also the goddess of hope. Celebrate your inner Eos by greeting each day as an opportunity. Make a morning routine that helps you start off centered and strong. Light exercise, reading, or a walk to watch the sunrise- whatever helps your inner goddess greet the day with a smile. When you take time for yourself in this way, it becomes far easier to give time to others.
3. Athena is the Greek goddess of wisdom. Women often work so hard to help others that we neglect our own needs. A wise woman keeps herself healthy first, so that she can properly tend to others. Women are so rarely taught to put themselves first, but how can you help anyone when you aren’t taking care of yourself? Be smart; tend to your own needs first.
4. Hera is the mother of all Goddess and the protector of relationships. But the secret of releasing your inner Hera is to have a good relationship first with yourself, before you can work on yours with others. By loving and accepting yourself, you can offer the same to those around you. Cultivate the natural beauty and fierceness inside, and watch your relationships flourish.

Inner Peace

Inner peace is surrender and forgiveness. It’s having faith without the need to control outcomes. Peace is acceptance, love and gratitude. It’s the quiet of the mind and love in the heart.
Find inner peace in everything you do; in your thoughts, actions and reactions. Still the mind and just be. Allow your mind to relax and breathe into the moment; feel passing thoughts come and go as you breathe deeply.
In this moment of quiet, of being still and present, feel the love in your heart begin to permeate every cell in your body as each cell vibrates love through energetic light. Feel the pulsating waves of energy roll through your body like waves, rippling out to every corner of your being. Imagine warm light filling your body completely and flowing out through your hands, feet and the crown of your head. In this moment of stillness and being, place your hand on your heart and feel the love resonate within. You are love; you are light, shining energetically throughout the universe and beyond. You are nothing less than this moment, forever shining eternal.

Feng Shui for Greater Wisdom

By Ken Lauher
“Seek wisdom above and before all else and you will be able to choose well, what is needed for your life’s journey.”
 ~Amanda Curtis Kane
If you have wisdom, other things in your life will fall into place. Wisdom should not be confused with knowledge. Knowledge is merely facts, while wisdom is the ability to truly listen, to analyze what’s before us, to sit in the stillness and to think and absorb. In his book on meditation, “Getting into the Gap,” Wayne Dyer points out that the letters in the word “listen,” rearranged, also spell “Silent.” You must be silent to truly listen. Through listening, you’ll gain greater wisdom.
Wisdom is the ability to see things from other people’s perspectives and the ability to learn and to adapt. Wisdom tells us what to do with our knowledge. Those who are wise will never stop seeking knowledge, but the two words are not the same. As Sandra Carey eloquently states, “Never mistake knowledge for wisdom. One helps you make a living; the other helps you make a life.”
